What Is The Cause And Treatment For Sore Throat Due To Swelling In Tonsils?

I've had a mild sore throat on one side for about 3 weeks.No cold or flu symptoms. Feeling of something small stuck in throat, like a hair or small seed. Looked at throat, noticed slightly swollen left tonsil, and a soft flesh color small lump behind tonsil. I've been researching online, and am now worried its something serious. I've booked an appoint with a GP, but its a week away. Any Thoughts on what this could be?

Dont worry, i think its just a mild infection of the tonsil and it will come down with regular warm salt gargles. However, if you are still concerned, please meet your ent doctor for further advice!
