What Is The Cause For Abdominal Pain With Mild Fever?
Dear Sir, Gd Mrning, I hving a recent bloodtest due to abdomen problem ,where the repor says my SGOT-39 IU/L & SGPT-66 IU/L & total Bilirubin-0.83 mgs/dl .Since last few days I having Right upperside abdomen pain with mild fever. Is it a serious matter. Please suggest.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Liver function tests showing SGOT-39 IU/L & SGPT-66 IU/L & total Bilirubin-0.83 mgs/dl means only SGPT is marginally raised and should not be much worried about. Pain in the right upper abdomen can be due to liver pathology or gall bladder disease. Hence additional investigations are required such a blood tests for CBC, kidney and Pancreatic functions and liver functions to be repeated; ultrasonography of the abdomen particularly for hepato-biliary system. Tests of urine and stool. All these tests along with a clinical evaluation by your Doctor or a Gastroenterologist can lead to a proper diagnosis and give a plan for proper management. Till then take a PPI like Omeprazole, antacids if acidity. Antibiotics if there is an evidence of an infection. Plenty of liquids orally to avoid dehydration.
