What Is The Cause For Dark At The Back Of A Eye And I Am 71 Years Old?

I WENT TO THE OPTICIAN AND WHEN THEY DONE SEVERAL TESTS TOLD ME THAT THE BACK OF ONE OF MY EYES WAS QUITE DARK. WHEN I ACTUALLY SAW THE OPTICIAN I MENTIONED THIS TO HIM AND HE AGREED THAT THAT ONE OF MY EYES IS DARK. I ASKED HIM WHAT CAUSES THIS AND HE TOLD ME HE DID NOT KNOW AND LEFT IT AT THAT. I AM 71 YEARS OLD.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. It could be an old vitreous or retinal hemorrhage.
2. You will require surgery, if there is ongoing bleeding or medication to clear it faster.
3. Meet an opthalmologist to get a retinoscopy done.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
