my three year old daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed january 9th. After about 10 days of post op pain, restless nights and weight loss, she began to show improvement(uninterrupted sleep, recovered appetite, no more morning grogginess as when osa was at its worst, increased energy and alertness upon waking, reduced or barely noticeable snoring, etc) Last night, however, she began what seemed like hiccuping while sleeping. This lasted through the entire night and into the morning until waking(at least 10 hours non stop) this of course interrupted her sleep and caused concern for me. Is this possibly related to nerve damage or anesthesia when it has first occurred three weeks post op? side note: she had always been prone to frequent episodes of the hiccups prior to surgery; however, while they lasted more than a few minutes, never did they last even an hour, let alone 10.
