What Is The Cause For Memory Weakness?

My kid is not doing well in school. He is just 6 yr old. As compared to other kids in his class he is the weakest of the all. Me and my wife try to give him time and make him study at home. But still he doesnt do well. His remembering abilities and memory is very weak. What to do?
