What Is The Cause For Pain In My Abdomen After A Heavy Lift?

I am a healthy 62 year old woman. I lifted a box 2 days ago which was too heavy and felt like I tore something in my abdomen...it burned a little and has been achy since. I have also felt unusually tired since this happened. It is possible that I am bleeding in that area?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Yes, this is definitely a muscle strain with minimal bleeding, which continues with pain. Another possibility is starting a hernia, which a Surgeon would be in a position to to diagnose better- have you got a bulge at the spot of pain ?
