What Is The Cause For Red Swollen And Slightly Warm Ear?

My 18 month old son's ear is swollen, red and slightly warm. It's just the top of the ear. It doesn't bother him when I touch it, he hasn't had anything new to eat or drink and I can't find any type of bug bite near the area. Ive given him one dose of Benadryl and ibuprofen and it doesn't seem to look any better what can I do or what could cause this. Any guidance greatly appreciated thank you

Hi,
It seems that there might be having some allergic reaction, might be due to something bite.
As there is no pain or crying of child, ear infection is less likely.
Continue giving Benadryl for 2-3 days and child will be alright.
Ok and take care.
