What Is The Cause Of A Knot On The Head?
hello, i have a knot on the top right side of my head, more towards the front, and it s very tender to the touch. i ve also been having very painful, throbbing headaches and sometimes a sharp pain in that area as well...on and off, but usually the headaches are everyday. i ve had this for about a week and a half now and have been temporarily alleviating the pain with exedrin (just 2 pills every 24hrs.). i did faint, hitting my head on a tile floor, a few months ago (hit the bottom right side of my head just behind my right ear) and went to the er. they said it may have been low blood pressure or low blood sugar. other than that i ve had no head injuries. your thoughts? thanks so much, paul

Your evaluation at Emergency room, was your CT scan Brain done? If not, then please do that. If the Scan was done and it was Normal, then I suggest an ultrasound of swelling area right side of the head more towards forehead region.
It looks like either localized collection of Pus, and infected debris (an abscess) that needs to be drained or it may be a focus of active bleed still going on inside which needs to be fixed by Operating and Suturing.
For your case, we need the involvement of a Neuro Surgeon, so I suggest to Report to a Neuro Surgeon immediately.
