What Is The Cause Of A Lump?

hi there i have noticed a small pea sized lump in the side of my 14 year olds neck. its prominent as he tilts his head to the left side but is not causing him any pain. should i go to the doctors to check it out or leave it for a while to see if it gets any bigger or changes?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

The swelling is likely to be lymph node, which is the commonest swelling in neck. In majority of the case its due to non specific enlargement . As you have mentioned its just pea shaped and not associated with symptoms like redness, fever r other systemic symptoms there is no cause for concern. It will regress in a couple of week.
If the lesion persists beyond it , then do get a routine assessment fom your Pediatrician.
