Urologist 's  Response
Hi
Methadone do not cause enlarged prostate in a 17 year old. There are only reports in patients above 40 yeas of age but whether it is due to methadone or age related prostate enlargement is a matter of debate.

On the other hand constipation related to the drugs can cause urinary problems. If symptoms do not improve then ask you doctor to refer your son to an urologist for further evaluation.

Meanwhile avoid constipation and advice him to have high fibre diet.
