Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have had bleeding during sex. It is infrequent but it does happen and it stops immediately. I have had a pap smear which came back good, a pelvic ultrasound which looked good, and tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea. My dr has me on doxycycline. What could it be? She said that I am not perimenopausal. This has been going on for the last 7 years and I am 38 years.
An ultrasound may not be able to detect conditions like uterine polyps, etc. I would recommend a hysterosalpingography (HSG). Although I do not guarantee chances of detecting the exact cause, but this does help to take a closer look and may help.
Best of luck.
