What Is The Cause Of Burning Sensation And Itching While I Urinate?

For about two weeks I ve had itching and occasional burning when I urinate. There has also been a couple of nights when I ached all over like the flu coming on but that gets better the next day. I m 49, married for 30 years. No sexual partners outside our marriage. Condition is driving me crazy.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have itching and burning while passing urine ,

Itching and burnng urination are presenting symptoms of diabetes .Please get your blood sugar levels on empty stomach and 2 hours after lunch done to rule out Diabetes .

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptCic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
