What Is The Cause Of Fever?

My son 7 years old as a low grade fever 97*F to 100.5*F , the fever breaks when we give paracetmol 250 mg and cefixime 100Dt as advised by doctor temperature goes to 98.4* F , but fevr comes back in 10 to 12 hrs time comes back to 99.7*F can pls tell me the reason , treatment as been for past 4 days.
