Hello Dr. Samuel. My name is Patrick, and I have been urinating more than usual. Matter of fact, too much. I have had a injury and on meds, percecet, and oxycotton. My mother, and my oldest brother had, and does have diabities. Wondering why I am urinating so much? My urine has been white in color, not bright yellow. Could you please help me out Doc?
I can understand your concern. There can be more than one reason for having increased urinary frequency. It could be due to diabetes as it runs in your family, possible urinary tract infection or prostate enlargement.
I would first advise you to get urine test routine and for sugar and blood test for sugar and complete blood count. Infection and diabetes will be diagnosed based on these tests if present. If they come normal, you should visit your urologist for physical examination and further investigations for prostate enlargement and other causes.
I hope this answer helps. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
