What Is The Cause Of Heartburn?

If I get hungry, I have some pretty severe heartburn (right under my breast). It's not specific to anything I may have eaten during the day. And it can come at any time (last nite it woke me around 11:30). Could it be GERD? Will diet change help, maybe some Tums???

dear Sir, this is Gerd. it occurs due to some gastric juice coming up the oesophagus. you need to avoid fatty and spicy food. you need a proton pump inhibitor as contraloc and an antacid as Ranitidine before every meal
