What Is The Cause Of Heaviness In Pelvic Area And Dark Brown Discharge After Having Unprotected Sex While Suffering From PCOS?
28 y/o with fairly normal periods, no birth control, sexually active with husband, no medications, and PCOS. Instead of normal period this month, it started 5 days late and was very light, brown colored discharge. This continued for 4 days and has now becomes a heavier dark brown/reddish discharge with small clots. As it became heavier my pelvic area has been cramping and having spasms that hurt really bad. I must lay down and cannot sit upright in chair. My doc can't see me until next week. What is this? Should I go to the ER.
If this pv bleeding is not in keeping with your normal periods then it would be best to see a doctor as soon as possible. If your private doctor is unable to see you then you should consider the ER.
It is possible , since you are sexually active with no contraception, that you may have conceived. If that is the case , the abnormal bleeding may be due to a complication of pregnancy.
I am sorry if that is the case.
The hospital would likely examine you, do a pregnancy test and may also order an ultrasound.
I hope this helps
