What Is The Cause Of Pea Sized Lump On The Arm Post Blood Donation ?

Hello I gave blood last week and I ended up getting a hematoma in my arm a few hours after it was badly bruised for days and now the bruising has gone but I now noticed I have a pea sized lump in my arm which is more prominent when I straighten my arm. Would you know what this is and will it go away?

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

Blood transfusion is done through a vein in the cubital fossa (in front of the elbow). I presume you have this pea sized lump in the same location. If this is where the lump is, it is probably an enlarged lymphnode which has developed due to inflammation following the procedure.

An enlarged lymphnode without pain or other secondary symptoms is harmless and not concerning. Most often it would go away, rarely it can persist without causing any problems in the future.
