What Is The Cause Of Ruptured Blood Vessel Behind Nose?
My 72 year old mother woke up over night with a very large, non-stop nosebleed. She went to the local ER, and was told she had a ruptured blood vessel behind her nose. The Dr. packed her nose, and eventually the bleeding stopped. However, her blood pressure was very high (normally it is low), and they monitored her for an hour before releasing her. She has to return to have the packing removed in 2 days.
What could be the cause of this, and how concerned should I be?
Hi, It seems that due to acute episode of raising blood pressure might gave her bleeding nose. This is a safety valve giving you warning that your blood pressure is very high and go for immediate treatment to prevent further damage in your vital organs. Go for regular blood pressure checking and keep record. Ok and take care.
