What Is The Cause Of Vomiting With Mild Stomachache In A Child?

My son had a bout of vomitting with mild stomach cramping on Sunday night from 7pm - 4am Monday morning. He was fine all day Monday had some bread and plenty of fluids. He did have a cupcake and a bite of garlic bread Monday around 5pm. He just woke up at 2am (it's Tuesday now) and vomitted. Mostly clear with some mucus.
