General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Both are antihypertensive drugs.
Atenolol(ATEN 25MG) is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension)
Met Xl 25 MG Tablet is used to reduce high blood pressure, relieve chest pain caused due to reduced blood flow to the heart. It is also used for treating other complications associated with the heart and blood vessels and to improve survival after a heart attack.
After seeing your ECG, your doctor found the later one more suitable for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
