What Is The Difference Between Cheratussin And Brom/PSE/DM?

Can you explain for me the difference between Cheratussin and Brom/ PSE/DM I have cough and when I go to Urgent Care my doctor he gaves me Brom/ PTS/ DM. I have high blood pressure and I have to take Nifidipine and Enalapril every day.Thank you , Doctor.My name is Theresa YYYY@YYYY

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cheratussin Ac contains codeine phosphate ( a cough suppressant) and guaifenesin (mucolytic- breaks up mucus).

Brom/pse/dm- contains a brompheniramine (anti histamine), pseudoephedrine ( a oral decongestant) and dextromethorphan (cough suppressant).

The cheratussin does not have an anti histamine or decongestant present, this is the main difference.
