What Is The Difference Between Seizures And Dementia?

Hi, is there a differnce to look for between a person who is diagnosed with non convulsive seizures, and early stages of dementia. How can we tell if this 72 yr old is having a dementia episode, or one of her seizures. Symptoms are, picking at clothing, abnormal breathing, verbally non responsive, fidgety,,, When you call her name, she will look at you but not respond, which is not normal for her. Basically, is this always her seizure or her dementia episodes.

Hello,
This can be very hard to distinguish. If she is seeing a neurologist then hopefully they will be able to treat her seizures. It would be also good for her to get a diagnosis of the type of dementia she may have. Some forms of dementia have a treatment, at least in the early stages.
