What Is The Dosage Of Birth Control Pills?

I am on the depo shot and have been taking birth control pills for the last 10 days because I was having heavy periods. The bleeding has finally stopped. Do I need to continue taking the pills until they are gone? Also will the bleeding come back after the second 3 month injection?

Hi,
Depot provera is known to cause menstrual irregularities,so also profuse bleeding , depending on individual hormonal constitution.
Estrogen pills control depot bleeding effectively. a course of 14 days usually
suffices. I hope you are taking contraceptive pills containing estrogen. If it is so- take the pills for 14 days & the stop.
Usually this much of medication controls initial depot bleeding. It usually does not recur ,once you are adjusted to the drug so it is not likely to repeat after your next shot.
In case you get bleeding after stopping contraceptive pills, you can use estrogen pack along with depot shot with your doctor's consultation.
Thanks.
