What Is The Hard Bump On The Tibia Bone?

Hi, I have a 23 year old daughter, she noticed that on her tibia bone she has a kind of long hard bump. It is painless and not red or bruised in any way. She can t remember banging it or hurting herself in that area. Can you please indicate what this may be? It has got me very worried. You can only slightly see it visibly but, it can be felt when feeling that area. I have scheduled a doctors appt but until then I am not at ease and would like to know what you think this might be? Thank You

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

A swelling appearing on the bone without injury is a serious matter. Kindly take your daughter to a hospital and get her investigated. No attempt should be made to treat it online.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nirmal Chander Gupta, Orthopaedic Surgeon
