I hit my head a couple of hours ago and i have a knot on the back of the head. At first it felt hard but now it seems soft(squishy). I'm light headed and nauseous. I took a 600mg ibuprofen right after it happened and it is still painful. Is this normal or should see a doctor for anything.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
You should know that the knot on your head is caused by the edema and inflammation of the soft tissues and muscles on your scalp related to the trauma.
This is a normal reaction and it is quite normal to have headache and nausea after a head concussion.
I recommend you to have some rest for some days, avoid any possible head trauma and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for the pain.
Your symptoms are going to improve spontaneously.
If your symptoms get worse (increased headache, sleepiness, gait difficulty, limb numbness, etc.), you should go to the ER for a physical exam and a brain CT scan to exclude possible delayed intracranial hemorrhage.
