Hello dear,

Acid reflux is caused due to excess acid formation in stomach & relaxation of the sphincter at the lower part of esophagus.

In your post, you have mentioned about taking pills for your complaints, but you did not mention their names.
Medical management of acid reflux consists of intake of Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole, Omeprazole, etc. which prevent acid formation in stomach.

Additional management involves:
1. Intake of Domperidone preparations which strengthens the sphincter & prevents reflux.
2. Lifestyle modification- like weight reduction, sleeping on the left side, or with upper body raised.
3. Dietary modification- avoid consuming irritating substances such as acidic & rich foods, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.

If symptoms still persist, it will be better to consult your treating Doctor/ Gastroenterologist.
Investigation like Ultrasound scan of abdomen & Upper GI endoscopy will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Wish you a good health.
Take care.
