What Is The Medication For Controlling Blood Sugar?

Hi.. My brother is diabetic with pp sugar level ranging from 250 to 370.. He recently operated for hernia And doctors performed the surgery after controlling his sugar level with insulin. Post surgery his sugar level could not be controlled which ranges from 189 to 325 even after administering insulin 30/70 dose up to 25 units . Therefore, he had an extended stay at the hospital for 6 days post surgery. Now doctors advised him gluformin f1 forte.
Please advise is it sufficient to keep his sugar level under control. Please also advise for any other medication required. Thanks

Hello,
It is very difficult to predict that this tablet would be sufficient to control his blood sugar levels.
Blood sugar levels of your brother have to be monitored regularly and drugs and doses have to be fit rated according to that.There is wide range of anti diabetics which are available and their judicious use can definitely control the diabetes,In case,sugar is not controlled by oral medicines,then inj insulin can be added in the regime.
Since it is not possible for a online doctor to monitor the patient regularly,you must consult a diabetologist for proper management.
Slong with meicines,encourage your brother to observe proper dietary controls and do regular aerobic excises for 45 minutes a day.
