What Is The Medication For Lumbar Spondylosis Other Than Surgery?

I am a 59 year old male, about 275# and I get numbness in my lower body from the waist down after standing or walking for 20 minutes. I have to sit down, within 10 more minutes the numbness goes away. I've had a MRI which indicates I have congenitally shortened pedicies result in disfuse mild spinal canal stenosis throughout the lumbar. Also noted disfuse lumbar spondyloysis, most pronouned at L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1. The recommendation is surgery. My question is do I have any other choices other than surgery.
