What Is The Medication For Pain In The Forehead After Falling Off The Step?

My 2 year old girl hit her head by falling off of her step stool and landing forehead first into the door. She cried for a minute, then she seemed okay. I'm only worried because she didn't get a nap today and was already tired, so I couldn't tell if she was more drowsy than usual. Is it okay to let her sleep?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry about your daughter's fall. You've already mentioned the most important part of the evaluation. She did niy lose consciousness and she cried immediately, then resumes normal activity. It is perfectly safe to allow her to sleep. She may experience headache for the next couple of days. This can be treated with acetaminophen or ibuprofin and is no cause for concern. The only sign to watch for is vomiting in the first 24 hours after the fall. If this happens, I recommend consulting with your doctor immediately. If this does not happen, you have nothing to worry about.
