Urologist 's  Response
Hi
Contiflo D contains two main ingredients- Tamsulosin and Dutasteride. Both work on different ways on the prostate gland - the tamsulosin relaxes the prostate muscles and Dutasteride shrinks the gland itself. Hence combining both is beneficial. Hence advice him to take both at the same time.

Both medications will not cause any problem with cataract or stones in the kidney.

Tamsulosin need to be stopped 1 week before cataract operation if planned or atleast make the ophthamologist aware and restart after the operation.
