What Is The Minimum Calories Needed For A Male?

hiyaa im a 20 year old male and about 5 ft 7 and weigh 51 kg i was just wondering if my basic metabolic rate is 1500 and something (learnt it at the gym lol) and im eating only about 700-800 calories a day is that bad? its not that i dont want to eat anymore i just cant afford it :D

Thanks a lot for your question.
According to the details you have provided your maintenance calories are approximately 1530 per day.
The minimum number of calories you can consume and stay healthy is 1200. Anything lower than that is extremely low and means you wont be able to meet your dietary reference values (daily nutrient requirements) for macro+micronutrients. This can lead to an approximate weight loss of 700 grams every week and may lead to health issues associated with malnutrition (fatigue, low energy, hair loss, dizziness, headaches and heart problems).
If you can afford it i would suggest you to include in your diet a few healthy and nutritious foods that are also high in calories so you can meet your daily needs without eating a lot of food.
These include: peanut butter, nuts and seeds, avocado, olives and olive oil, coconut milk, salmon and other oily fish, almond butter and cereal.
