What Is The Pain At The Top Of My Hip After A Spinal Fusion?

I had a spinal fusion with instrumentation for spinal stenosis at the L-4/L-5 level 3 years ago. Until two weeks ago I was pain-free. In the past two weeks I have experienced a catching sensation at the top of my hip when I first take a step and when I bend over and pain near the old surgical site. Do you have any idea what this might be and what I can do about it?
