My son who is 8 years old was recently on antibiotics and combiflam due to ear infection.Right now he is complaining of mild stomach pain and bents in the middle cannot walk staight rightaway but on saying to change posture he can, eats plays normally with normal bowels, what could it be?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 8 year old son who was on antibiotics and combiflam recently for an ear infection is complaining of mild stomach pain, bends in middle, can not walk straight, but can change posture ion asking to; eats and plays well and have normal bowels, wants to know the reason.... Since your son was having an ear infection, he might have had upper respiratory infection and the swallowing of infected material causes ''tummy tonsils'' that is enlargement of mesenteric lymph nodes that can cause the pain your son is explaining. I would advise him the following in such a situation: Tests of blood, urine and stool. High resolution ultrasonography of the abdomen to find out for lymph nodes, appendicitis or any other problems and to be confirmed by CT scan if needed. Once diagnosed the treatment will be according to the diagnosis.
