Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM .
Treatment of acute tonsillitis is antibiotic after culture and sensitivity.
But inspite of treatment if attacks occur repeatedly the only treatment is tonsillectomy .
If there is response to medical treatment one can wait.
usually tonsils hypertrophy up to 12 years of age and then they will regress.
Hence it is better to consult ENT surgeon.
Hope this reply is OK for you.
