What Is The Problem With The Kidney Scan Of Fetus?

Hi this is Malleswari,
I am 20 week 4 days pregent
Today had Tiffa scan. Our doctor said small problem found with baby Kidneys. find details below
Both Kidneys: Right & Left Kidneys 19X11 mm.
Dilated bilateral renal pelvis noted. AP diameter of pelvicalyceal system on right - 6 mm, on left - 7 mm. No evidence of hydroureter.
Can you explain more about this problem?

Thanks for your query.it is called Fetal Pyelectasis (Pelviectasis)
Mild dilatation of the renal pelvis is common, and in most cases, spontaneously resolves itself as the pregnancy progresses.
Please continue to have serial ultrasounds, and if the dilatation increases or persists till term, then you need to have detailed evaluation, and consultation with a pediatric surgeon .
