What Is The Prognosis For A Person With Chronic Gastritis?

I have a friend in hospital now in cleaburne TX. She has chronic gastritis/pancretitis. They are afraid that once again she has an ulcer back and her stomach will open up again. She is severely anemic and this hospital never finds out the cause of her issues. I am afraid this time she will die. Her family has been thru nightmares. Now her husband maybe in jeopardy of losing his job because of here attacks over the last several years. Which she has been hospitalized most of them. If you knew this families story and 7 wonderful children you would know why I fell in love with them. This family desperately need there moma alive and well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

She may need the work up for chronic gastritis to rule out any signs of gastrin producing tumor or Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. Also possibility of MEN that is multiple endocrine tumors syndrome should be ruled out.

I would suggest after this episode of pancreatitis and gastritis with management by both antibiotics as well as antacids and fluids, after that she should have a detailed review by a an endocrinologist to discuss these possibilities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
