What Is The Prognosis For Stage-4 Breast Cancer?

My 85 year old mother has stage 4 breast cancer and has elected to have no treatment. The tumor has ulcerated and is now about 15-20 cm in size. It bleeds a lot and has started having a bad odor. She is under Hospice care, but I live far away from her. Fortunately she has no pain at this time. Do you have any idea of how long she could live? (About 6 months ago, the tumor was only about 5 cm, so it has tripled in size.)

welcome to Health care magic.
1.It seems like its rapidly developing and increasing in size. Prognosis is poor.
2.It all depends on the individual immunity and extent of the metastasis.
3.And underlying medical / chronic diseases do play a major role.
4.The way you are describing may be couple of years. ( as you are only concern about how long - other wise only a treating or one with all medical reports only can say an approximate time)
5.Please don't worry about that and if you can give some care keep her happy with out any painful symptoms. good luck
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
