What Is The Purpose Of Ascoril?

my son 2.5 years old is having a kind of throat infection..his soynd is feable and he is not swalloing any hard food.went to a pediatrician and he told chest evrrything is clear but to. give ascoril syruup for 5 days4 ml 3 times a day.is it the right medicine ? ascoril is used for throat infection or chest connjution? may i know please ?

I appreciate your concern for your beloved son.

This medicine is commonly prescribed for airway diseases like asthma, bronchitis and emphysema to improve the breathing and for easy expulsion of thick sputum.

Therefore useful in the treatment of chest congestion in the conditions mentioned above. It is not the right medicine for a throat infection.

Ascoril contains 3 components (Terbutaline, Bromohexine & Guafenesin)
management of cough associated with respiratory disorders.

This medication is a bronchodilator (helps in opening of the narrow airways) and mucolytic (converts thick sputum into a watery thin fluid) which helps in its easy removal by the process of coughing.
