What Is The Purpose Of Giving Epilim For ADHD Patients?

Hi, my name is ingrid and my son has been diagnosed with ADHD since the age of 4 1/2 (he is turning 13 tomorro) and has been the last few years also (apart from Concerta) on Epilim (300mg x 2 per day). My believe is that this drug is to stabilise the mood so that there are less outbursts of aggression or has it got another purpose for ADHD patients.
BTW he has not displayed major aggressive outbursts in the last 2 years!!! No visits to school or suspensions anymore.
Just my query about the purpose of the Epilim and consideration of maybe stopping that?

Hi, Thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion the Epilim is given for the aggressive outburst. If the child is not having any aggressive behaviour then it can be tapered and stopped. Kindly takl to your prescribing doctor regarding this.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you
