What Is The Raised And Swollen Lump On The Inner Thigh?

I have a raised, lump area on inside of my right calf. No redness or bruising. No pain in particular but I know it is there. I am 56, female with history of DVT/PE. I am on Coumadin and my last check I was 1.7. I take 2mg 6 days a week. I just noticed the swelling yesterday.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query and a correct history leading to a diagnosis.
Since you are on coumadine the most probable cause of such a lump which appeared yesterday and is large enough to be seen on the inside of the calf is most probably a hematoma unless proved otherwise.

I would advise you to go for high resolution ultrasonography and color doppler to get a confirmation.
Get the coagulation profile tested, you may need to stop coumadine under your Doctor's supervision.

You may not need major treatment unless the tight bandage does not help ]
