What Is The Reason For Black And Hard Stools In A Child ?
hi, my daughter is now 5 years old. she is passing stools in black color and it s very hard also. she passing motion once in 2 days. what is the reason for black color?

Black stools are usually accompanied by some blood from the intestinal track
I would recommend you control her constipation and get her stool examined
If the stool is normal and constipation controlled she should be normal in few days

First thanks for the question.Actually in children the color and consistency of stool depends on the type of food intake and frequency of stool.When stool become hard it should be more darker.As your daughter passing stool nearly after 2 days it is blackish in color and when frequency of stool will more the color will be more lighter.Usually intestinal bleeding is not a usual factor for black stool in a 5 years old.
Give her diet contains high fiber and improve toilet training that may be solve the problem(though it is a normal stool).
