What Is The Reason For Bloating Other Than Rectocele?

I have been suffering from symptoms of bloating and constipation. A proctogram has just shown that I have a rectocele. All my symptoms fit this, I am just wondering if the bloating is simply a consequence of constipation. i am due next week to have a colonoscopy, is this still necessary? Could there be something else as well as rectocele causing my symptoms? I am 42, have two children, both natural births, the first assisted delivary with large tear. Thanks for your help.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern. Most cases of stomach bloating are due to improper diet. Gas occurs because of the bacteria in the colon and is a by-product of soluble fiber digestion. Inadequate or irregular intake of fiber and water will cause a person to experience bloating or constipation. Anyway I suggest you to do an ultrasound to exclude other causes.
