am 36 years old and for the last six weeks, I have been having a greenish liquid taht comes out of my anus after I have had a meal or taken water. The liquid causes me to scratch the anus and then its held on my inner wear. What could the liquid be and what is the cure?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Passage of green mucus after food indicates that there is a leakage of mucus secondary to sort of colitis or proctitis instigating the reflex passage of mucus.
I would advise you the following in such a situation. • Send the sample of stool and green mucus for lab tests for 3 days. • Get the colonoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen so that the cause of the problem can be found. • Consult a gastroenterologist for second opinion and further management as per the clinical evaluation, examination, and investigation reports.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
