Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

This is most probably an episode of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) which is quite common in diabetics.

Firstly please consult your GP and ask for a colour doppler of the leg .

Start on a n anti inflammatory and analgesic like Etoricoxib.
Start a blood thinner like Ecosprin.
Calf pumping exercises 3 to 4 times daily .
Venous stockings are to be worn at all times.

Kindly get the report evaluated and proceed accordingly.

I hope my advice has helped
Good luck
