What Is The Reason For Not Having Bowel Movement For A Week?

I have had no bowel sounds for over a week, and I'm afraid I may have a bowel obstruction. I dosed myself with Mag Citrate over 2 hours ago, and nothing is moving. No sounds or intestinal discomfort. I want to know what the next step should be before seeing a physician.
