What Is The Reason For Pain In Throat And Chest After Swallowing Cracker Prematurely?

hi. yesterday i swallowed a crakcer prematurely that had one sharp corner left. Felt it slice the back of my throat, and then moments later had a feeling in centre chest as well. I can breathe fine. Today throat really sore and centre chest aches as well. Could that cracker have sliced my heart on way down?

hello dear
thanks for your query at hcm.

Pain might be due to injury to the esophagus because of the sharp edge of the cracker. Esophagus pain may some time mimic heart pain with sharp chest pain. You should be concerned if there is any bleeding in vomit or black color stool or very severe chest pain. Pain will relieve after healing is complete. Avoid spicy and hot food for some time .
regards.
