What Is The Reason For Painful Bump Near Buttocks?

There is a bump under the skin of my right butt cheek that is very painful when touched. It started out as just a tiny purple dot, and now it has become more red around the dot and more painful. I don t know where it could have started from? I have had this bump for over a year now. The bump does not show above the skin, only under. The red dot is visible on the skin. I am nervous that it could be something serious?

You might have developed furuncles.

These are deep bacterial infections.

Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests.
