What Is The Reason For Sudden Pain And Swelling In Left Thumb And Right Inner Ankle?

I had sudden pain an swelling in two seperate areas not attributed to any trama. First area was swelling in my left palm thumb area that caused pain & weakness through my thumb expecially when trying to hold something. I also notice soreness through the top of my hand. Second area was the inner right ankle: swelling looked to go from bottom of ankle down toward arch in foot causing paint in my arch. Notice a small deep read dot area that was at the rear of the swelling under ankle half way between heal. I have also notice pain in the bones of my right hand that looks to be stemming from the nuckles. Neurologist didn't think this has anything to do with my Multiple Sclerosis and the Primary Doctor says she is puzzled about as I am too. I was diagnose with MS in 2001. Took Avonex for 12 years, but switched to tecfidera after last MRI show an increas in activity in the brain in two areas. I'm taking Tecfidra 240 twice daily, Nortriptyline 75mg cap, Provostatin 1/2 cap daily. I'm a male, 230lbs, 6'2" and haven't been doing any any heavy lifting or exercising.
