What Is The Reason Of Increasing The Dose?

My child is on eltroxin since she was born. She is now 1 and 8 months old and started on 25mg then after a year up to 37.5mg. Now on her last visit to Dr she has been raised to 62.5 mg . Why is this. and will she suffer any major health conditions later in life

Hi, Thanks for asking.
In my opinion your child has congenital hypothyroidism. This is being treated with eltroxin. The dose of eltroxin is usually titrated on the basis of report of THS(thyroid stimulationg hormone) and the weight of the child. So the dose must have been increased due to the increase in weight of the child or according to the TSH report. You can ask your treating doctor about it.
She will not have any major health issues in later life due to this.
I hope i have helped you.
Thank You.
