What Is The Remedy For Bruising In The Rib?

I believe I cracked a rib coughing a couple of months ago, have honeycomb type bruising to my flank, which has gone away somewhat, but still there. The rib area is still tender, but not as sore and I can sleep on my side now. How long can I expect the bruising to be there?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Skeletal pain needs atleast 5-6 months for complete recovery.
And most important part in healing and recovery is immobilization. Immobilization is very difficult in ribs due to constant inspiration and expiration.
So to achieve immobilization and speed up the recovery, you should wear chest belt.
Also apply warm water pad on affected areas.
Start painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
Avoid movements causing pain and heavyweight lifting.
With all these, your recovery will be fasten.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
